EC Soccer Snaps Winless Streak, Defeats South Side 1-0; Boys Golf Earns Section Co-Champion Honors

With a thrilling 1-0 victory Thursday over South Side the Ellwood City Wolverines soccer team snapped a 113-match winless streak that dated back over 15 years. A penalty shot goal by F / M senior Anthony Popovich at the 22:43 mark of the first half was the lone goal in the contest. Ellwood City improves to 1-3-1 on the season and next will travel to Ambridge on September 22nd. Keller, Rozanski Wrap Up Two-Day Class 2A Golf Championships

Jordan Keller finished with a 2-day score of 169 (86-83, +26) to earn a 26th place finish in the 2025 WPIAL Class 2A Boys’ Individual Championships. The two day event wrapped up Tuesday at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray, PA after opening at the Hill Crest Country Club in Lower Burrell last week. Jaxon Rozanski (86-85, +28) finished in 32nd for Ellwood City. Both Wolverine golfers failed to make the cut and advance to the PIAA. The cut line was +19 for the Class 2A Individual Championships. Five Wolverine Golfers Shoot Sub-40, EC Routs Union 185-271

All five counting scores for the Ellwood City Wolverines golf team were sub-40 on Monday as the team cruised to a 185-271 match victory at home over Union Area. Jordan Keller led the charge with a 3-under round of 33 while Gino Biondi posted a score of 37. Mayor Court Presents Proclamation To EC Boys Golf Team

Mayor Anthony J. Court recently presented a proclamation to Ellwood City Boy’s Golf Team on their outstanding and heroic 2024 season. The mayor proclaimed Monday, December 16, 2024 as the ‘Ellwood City Boy’s Golf Team Day’ in the Borough. The team was undefeated Section Champions, earning its first undefeated season since 1975. The team captured their 20th Section Title in the Lincoln High School Golf Program history. Keller Qualifies For PIAA Championships, Wolverines Eye WPIAL Team Semifinals

Jordan Keller competed in the WPIAL Class 2A Golf Finals Wednesday at Sewickley Heights Country Club, qualifying for the PIAA Championships with a two-day total of 160 (+16), good enough for T-15 overall among the 38 golfers. Keller became just the 2nd Ellwood City golfer in the last 30 year to qualify for the PIAA Golf Championships in State College. Keller advanced to the championships after his performance last week. Ellwood City golf standout Jordan Keller has advanced to the 2nd round of the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Individual Championship. The junior finished with a 6-over round of 78 on Monday at the Par-72 Youghiogheny Country Club in McKeesport. Keller fired a 38 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. Jordan Keller collected the MAC Individual Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Fox Run Golf Course. The junior golfer finished with a 4-under round of 68.
