Both Ellwood City baseball and softball teams collected victories on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wolverines baseball team defeated Laurel 10-8 at Sanders Field behind two doubles and a 4-RBI performance by catcher Jordan Keller.
After Ellwood City posted three runs in the first inning, the Wolverines tacked on three more in the second inning as Keller doubled in a run and Aaron Lake smacked an RBI single.
Lake finished with three singles and three RBIs on the afternoon.
Ellwood City saw the lead stretch out to 10-2 after four innings and withstood a Laurel rally late to secure its non-section victory.
Will Nardone picked up the victory for the Wolverines on the mound, allowing four earned runs over six innings. Andrews tossed a clean inning of relief to collec the save for Ellwood City. Seven Wolverine starters collected hits on the afternoon.
The Ellwood City baseball team (5-6 Overall) will next travel to Hopewell on Thursday.

The Lady Wolverines softball team blasted Beaver Falls 19-0 on the road Wednesday.
Julie Nardone collected two of the teams four doubles on the afternoon. Nardone finished 3-4 at the plate, with two RBIs and three runs scored from her leadoff position.
Joining Nardone with multiple hits were Sara Schwarz, Rylee Prestopine, Kaylee Palombi, and Amber McQuistion. McQuistion collected a triple and knocked in a team-high four runs in the victory.
Ellwood City will next travel to Riverside on Thursday to face its rivalry affair scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The Panthers fell to Shenango earlier this week.
