POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

ASSAULT:
On February 28th at approximately 1:46AM police responded to a call of possible domestic disturbance. The arrestee assaulted his two cousins and destroyed their cell phones over an argument. The arrestee, a 17-year-old male of New Wilmington, was charged with two counts of simple assault, two counts of harassment, and one count of criminal mischief, according to criminal complaint.

CORRUPTION OF MINORS:
Garrett Duncan, 23, of Ellwood City, is charged with corruption of minors, displaying obscene/sexual materials and criminal use of a communication facility after an incident reported on February 18th. According to a criminal complaint, Duncan is accused of sending Snapchat photos of his private areas to a 14-year-old boy. The report relates the boys mother reported the incident to Ellwood City Police and the boy later gave a statement to police and provided the saved pictures to police as evidence. According to the complaint, Duncan later came into the police department for a statement on the incident whereas Duncan told police he did it for a joke and did not mean to harm anyone. Duncan states at the time he sent the photo he did not know the male was underage and he denied knowing the boy personally. Duncan said he met the boy in a group on Snapchat and did not know him beside that the report relates. Duncan agreed to give consent to search his cell phone. Duncan was arraigned by District Judge Jerry G. Cartwright, who released him on a nonmonetary bond, pending a preliminary hearing.

DUI:
Shyanne Getty, 32, of Portersville, is charged with DUI on January 21st at approximately 3:03PM. According to a criminal complaint, Getty was signaled to respond to a traffic stop, which she ran from causing a crash. When police finally contacted Getty, they noticed her eyes being watery and her pupils being constricted. Police administered a field sobriety test for which she failed and placed her under arrest for suspicion of driving. Getty also admitted to taking drugs before the incident.



DUI:
Trent Sirak, 21, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI on March 3rd at approximately 1:08AM. According to a criminal complaint, police noticed Siraks vehicle and had issued a traffic stop due to suspicious activity. When police asked Sirak for his license he stated he does not, and has never had one. He was found to have an odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from the vehicle and his clothing. Police then asked him to preform a standard field sobriety test for which he failed. He was taken back to ECPD and later released.

DUI:
Daniel Nicely, 56, of Hermitage, is charged with DUI on January 12th at approximately 9:51AM. According to a criminal complaint, police conducted a traffic stop for failure to use a turn signal near the intersection of Crescent Avenue and 2nd Street. Police noticed a smell and observed Nicelys eyes to be bloodshot and watery. A standard field sobriety test was administered and was failed. Police administered a field sobriety test for which Nicely failed and he was then transported to a nearby hospital for bloodtesting.

DUI:
Victor Spincic, 46, of New Castle, is charged with DUI on January 3rd at approximately 11:13AM. According to a criminal complaint, police conducted a traffic stop for failure to use a turn signal near Fountain Avenue and its intersection with Keystone Way and upon contact noticed a strong odor of marijuana. A standard field sobriety test was administered, and Spincic failed. Spincic was then transported to a nearby hospital for bloodtesting.

DUI:
Destany Houk, 28, of Wampum, is charged with DUI on January 3rd at approximately 8:56AM. According to criminal complaint, police conducted a traffic stop on 4th Street and Spring Avenue for a suspended license and found Houk to be overly nervous, and her eyes were bloodshot. When asked about it, Houk admitted to taking substances. A standard field sobriety test was administered and Houk failed. She was transported to a nearby hospital and was bloodtested.
