Riverside SD Official Back to School Informational Letter

Riverside Beaver County School District recently published its official Back to School Letter on the district website.  The letter offers important information for elementary, middle, and high school level students and parents.

In its opening statement the letter reads:

We hope that all students and their family members have been enjoying their summer break, staying safe and healthy, and preparing for another great school year at Riverside. Even though everyone is aware of the drastic changes our society has weathered the past few months and the impact these changes have had on
education, all of the teachers and administrators have worked tirelessly to provide each student with a rewarding experience. We are dedicated in our attempts to provide an enriched routine of synchronous (real-time) learning while also providing direct instruction and extracurricular activities. For our youngest of learners, we are anxiously awaiting the full return to school for engaging activities and direct instruction. Most importantly, we will be continually monitoring and adhering to our Health and Safety Plan to keep all students and staff safe throughout the course of the school year.

The district administration continues, knowing that many of these adjustments to our everyday routine are new for both students and staff, we have made modifications to our daily schedule and our procedures. We cannot begin to express our gratitude for the flexibility and and understanding thus far, and we will continue to honor that relationship. Throughout this document are the specifics of this school year and the pertinent information all families will need to be aware of once school starts September 1st. However, at any time, please contact your child’s building administrator with any questions and concerns.

The letter adds, throughout the course of the day, the school nurses will be continually monitoring the health of all students and staff in the building. Parents should check each school-aged child for symptoms relating to COVID-19 and keep any sick individual home from school or an extracurricular event.

The district will assess the need to continue the hybrid schedule each nine weeks. Information regarding the 2nd nine weeks will be posted midway through the 1st nine weeks.

The letter also includes schedules for elementary, middle ,and high school students, transportation maps, district modifications, information on health screenings, device usage, and Riverside Cyber School.
