Oktoberfest Volunteers – Going Above And Beyond

Ellwood City, PA. A check presentation dinner meeting was hosted by the Wolves Club on October 23 at Carusone’s Catering Hall in Ellwood City. Profits from the highly successful Oktoberfest event were distributed to the Lions Club, Rotary Club and the ALS Association of Western PA by chairman Denny Boariu.

Wolves Club President Mike DeOtto recognized Oktoberfest chairman, Denny Boariu and Martin ‘Doc’ Barsotti, for their organizational and leadership skills; commenting that their efforts were greatly appreciated, not only by the Wolves Club, but by the Oktoberfest volunteers and community at large.

Denny Boariu introduced the involved representatives of the Lions and Rotary Clubs who each received a check for $5,500.00. He stated that the cooperation of the three organizations (Wolves, Lions and Rotary Clubs) was remarkable in terms of time, energy and resources displayed throughout the event.

The charity for this year’s Oktoberfest was the ALS Association of Western PA represented by special guest, Morgan Geniviva, who received a check for $3,000.00. She offered heartfelt remarks noting that the Western PA Chapter of the ALS not only helps victims of ALS in Western Pa but also in the Ellwood City area which included her father John Geniviva.
