Wolves Club 2019 Scholarships Presented to Lincoln and Riverside Students

NORTH SEWICKLEY TWP – At their annual scholarship dinner on May 22, at the Connoquenessing Country Club, the Wolves Club Den II members, gathered to celebrate the awarding of $15,740 in scholarships to a total of ten Lincoln and Riverside seniors to help fund their college education.

Wolves Club president, Mike DeOtto said; “Education exposes these outstanding young scholars to what the world has to offer, and to the many possibilities open to them. We are proud to aid them financially as they enter a new and challenging phase of their lives.”

Lincoln high school senior, Alexander Scott was announced as the $5,000 recipient. He is the son of Angelica Sanchez Mason and Ted Scott of Ellwood City. Alexander plans to attend Pennsylvania State University and major in Chemical Engineering.

Two $2,500 scholarships were awarded to: Sarina Steigerwald, a Riverside high school senior and to Lincoln high school senior, Hannah Froce. Sarina is the daughter of Darla Steigerwald of North Sewickley Township and Dennis Steigerwald of Harmony. Sarina will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania and declared a double major focusing on Business Management and on Human Resources Management.

Hanna is the daughter of Neil and Carrie Froce of Ellwood City. She will attend Urbana University and major in Special Education.

Two $1,500 Scholarships were awarded to Riverside seniors, Natalie Holzer and Kristina Hogue.

Natalie is the daughter of Ken and Susan Holzer of Ellwood City and will attend the University of Kentucky to major in Finance and Economics.

Kristina is the daughter of Mary and Jimmy Hogue of New Brighton and will attend Pennsylvania State University majoring in Communications Journalism.

Four $500 scholarships were awarded to three Lincoln high school seniors Gina DiCarlo, who received the Liberty Hope Scholarship funded by Dennis Gottuso, a former Wolves Club scholarship recipient; Ethan Lordi, who received the Mary Ann Celli Grant; Zoe Partridge received the Anthony and Helen Celli Grant, and Riverside high school senior Lydia Kingston received the Petti CCBC Memorial Scholarship.

Gina DiCarlo is the daughter of Carla and Dan DiCarlo of Ellwood City. She will be attending Pennsylvania State University to major in Bio Behavioral Health.

Ethan Lordi is the son of Dominic Lordi of Ellwood City. He will attend Geneva College and major in Secondary Education and Social Studies.

Zoe Partridge is the daughter of Jessica and Jamie King of Ellwood City. Zoe will attend Pittsburgh Technical College majoring in Criminal Justice.

Lydia Kingston is the daughter of Todd and Traci Kingston of Fombell. Lydia will attend CCBC and major in Radiologic Technology.

A $740 Wolves/BC3 scholarship was awarded to Lincoln high school senior Kristen Simon. Kristen is the daughter of Suzanne and John Simon of Ellwood City. She will attend BC3 and major in Communications and Public Relations.

Teacher, Rick DeLoia presented the awards to the Lincoln high school seniors; language-arts teacher, Jacqueline Pinchot presented the awards to the Riverside high school seniors, Associate Director of BC3 Education Foundation Michelle Jamieson presented theBC3 award and Development Associate and Assistant to the President of CCBC, Leanne Condron presented the CCBC award.

The scholarship awardees were invited to offer a few remarks. All focused on gratitude for the generous support of the Wolves Club scholarships enabling them to further pursue their educational goals. For their contributions to the scholarship and grant program, a special note of appreciation was expressed, on behalf of the Wolves Club, by Master of Ceremonies Denny Boariu, to the Anthony and Helen Celli Family, the Mary Ann Celli Family, Dennis Gottuso, the Petti Family and the former Koppel Wolves Club Den.

Also acknowledged was Leymarie, Clark, and Long P.C., Attorneys at Law for their generous contribution for the scholarship/grant recipient dinners in memory of Charles “Bud” Long. Members of the club’s scholarship committee are Chairperson, Dr. Joseph Cioffi, Ed Leymarie, Jaret Gibbons,
John DiBuono, Nick Mancini and coordinator, Herman Petti Jr.

Reverend Todd Custer, Pastor Christ Presbyterian Church, gave the invocation and benediction.
