Ellwood City United Fund Extends Fundraising Campaign

The Ellwood City United Fund board of directors will extend the annual fundraising campaign to January 31, 2019.

“We feel and hope this will give the community extra time to respond for our plea of funds,” said United Fund Treasurer Andrew Kindle via email.

The Ellwood City United Fund is a year-round organization that helps to provide funds to agencies that serve our community. Your donation whether small or large, will directly benefit those in need.

Kindle also added, “we will be distributing checks the first of the year and it would be great if he could give each agency the allotment they need for the year.”

The campaign fundraising showed a $14,900 shortfall on December 31, 2018 of the goal of $50,000. The campaign to raise funds started October 1st this year, the giving from the community was fairly regular and was keeping abreast for the months of October and November. December fell off and never met expectations to help meet the United Fund goal.

The fundraising benefits eight nonprofit service agencies that serve our community: Ellwood City Public Library, LARK Enterprises, People-in-Need, City Rescue mission, Human Service Center, Ellwood Family Center, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and Ellwood Education Foundation.

If you haven’t given and you can, please do. More than ever, we need your continued support this year and into the future.

All donations to the Ellwood City United Fund are tax-deductible. DONATIONS can be sent to: ELLWOOD CITY UNITED FUND, POST OFFICE BOX 174, ELLWOOD CITY, PA 16117.
