The Ellwood City Borough Council and the Mayor’s office were honored to received a plaque, that was presented last week, from The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance.
Along with Borough Council and the Mayor’s office, the Ellwood City Police Department is also a proud sponsor of this organization.
With over 400 volunteers, this organization had picked up 404 tires and 58,126 pounds of trash within 2018. From their start, they’ve collected a total of 4,455 tires and 418,983 pounds of trash.
The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance recently completed their seventh year of the Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup Project. They’ve completed all 50 miles of the creek this year.
In September, the Borough proudly recognized the Alliance for continued diligence in removing debris from the Connoquenessing Creek and restoring the waterway to its natural beauty. [READ MORE]
