Ann Konyak, 95

Mrs. Ann Konyak, 95, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Franciscan Manor.

Ann was born on January 4, 1922 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph and Theresa Palakovic Gretch. She had graduated from Lincoln High School and Nursing School. Ann worked as a Supervising Nurse in the OB department at the Ellwood City Hospital for over 40 years. She is also a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She enjoyed gardening, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son  Joseph C. (Colleen) Konyak of Ellwood City, her grandchildren, Abigail Konyak and Kyle Konyak, and her niece Alice Pariso of Ellwood City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Konyak whom she married on April 4, 1957 and passed away on March 7, 1995, her sisters Mary Dumont, Pauline Malak, Ethel Christoff, Theresa Jack, and Evelyn Giancotti, and her brothers John and Charles Gretch.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 am in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will be at the Arlington National Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Ann’s name may be made to the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
