Robert S. Ierace, 85

Robert S. Ierace, 85 of 6th Street, Ellwood City passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on Monday, April 3, 2017.

Born in Ellwood City on October 11, 1931, Robert was the son of the late Domenico and Bertha Florio Ierace.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Lou Falconie who passed away on April 6, 1980.  Robert had retired as a Machinist at Universal Valve Co and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.  Robert was a veteran of the Air Force serving as an aircraft mechanic from 1952 through 1956.  He was a member of the SOI Lodge, VFW and Hungarian Home all of Ellwood City.  He enjoyed baking, especially breads and pies during the time he spent at Joyce’s Café.  He was also a Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his three sons, Stephen R. Ierace of Port St. John, FL, Timothy R. Ierace of Coco Beach, FL and Michael A. and Melissa Ierace of Ellwood City, two grandchildren, Roxanne Ierace and Jacob Ierace, three great grandchildren, a sister, Josephine Massene of Ellwood City and a brother, Eugene Ierace of Ellwood City.

Besides his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia, a sister, Rose Nocera and three brothers, Philip, Sam and Albert Ierace.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.  Full Military rites will be offered by the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
