nagel-dutchHoward R. “Dutch” Nagel, 69 of Shenango Twp. passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his hunting camp in Port Allegheny, PA.

Born in New Castle, PA on June 3, 1947, Dutch was the son of John R. and Marjorie Ames Nagel of Ellwood City. Dutch is also survived by his wife, Lois Klinesmith Nagel whom he married on October 15, 1988. Dutch retired from the Ellwood City Forge in 2011 after 43 years as a metallurgist. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War where he assembled and disassembled ordnance. He was a member of the New Galilee VFW and American Legion. Dutch enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.Besides his wife and parents, Dutch is survived by 6 children, Cynthia Nagel of Portersville, James Nagel of Ellport, Paul and Judy Johnston of Ellwood City, Virginia and James Patterson of New Galilee, Katrina Ellis of Pulaski Twp. and Kirsten Johnston of Sharon, a sister, Janice and Jerry Wilbeck of Rockwall, TX, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Johnston.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM where a Funeral Service will be offered by Pastor P. A. Harman at 6 PM.

Full Military Rites will be offered by the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
