Ellwood Boys Tennis Team Defeats Central Valley

The Lincoln High School Boy’s Varsity Tennis team moved within one match of a .500 section record yesterday, improving their section record to 3-4 with a hard-fought win over Central Valley.

Trey Houk won at second singles, and the first singles team of Corey Hobbs and Shane Reisinger maintained their undefeated section status at first doubles, both with straight set wins.

It all came down to Second Doubles, and three grueling sets later, in a match that lasted till almost 7 p.m., the Wolverine team of Dominic Nocera and Zain Ansari outlasted a tough Central Valley second doubles team to secure the win for Ellwood.

The Ellwood boys hope to reach .500 in section play for the season with their final match at Ambridge at the Brady’s Run outdoor courts. The match was postponed today due to rain, and has been rescheduled for today.
