The Riverside varsity baseball team came out on the victors end of a shutout on Thursday while the Wolverines took a shutout defeat on Thursday. The Panthers defeated Mohawk Area 8-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Riverside notched four runs in the sixth inning. Your two-time defending WPIAL Champion Riverside Panthers are slotted as preseason #1 for Class-3A, Section 2 according to an WPIAL baseball social media account.  Following the Panthers in the section ranking is Ellwood City in third place.
