Fifth-ranked BC3 Volleyball Team Wins 3rd Consecutive Region 20 Title

Arnold, Md. – The unbeaten and fifth-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball squad’s perfect season continued Saturday with a regional title in Arnold, Md., and a berth in a three-team district tournament whose top two squads will advance to the national championships in Rochester, Minn. Ellwood City standout Breanna Reisinger had 14 kills, Morgan Jack 32 assists and Lainey Tobolewski 20 digs as the Pioneers (15-0) won their third National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 20 title in a row. Ellwood City Girls Volleyball Victorious On Senior Night, Clinch Playoff Berth

The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball team defeated Mohawk in straight sets (3-0) Tuesday evening on their senior night at Lincoln High School gymnasium. The girls ousted the visiting Warriors 25-13, 25-6, and 25-12 to earn their ninth victory of the regular season. Reisinger Leads BC3 To Record 6th Consecutive Conference Title

Butler, PA – Breanna Reisinger had 14 kills, Aslyn Pry 11 and Abby Granato 7 as the ninth-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team won a Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference-record sixth conference championship in a row Saturday. SPORTS: Spadafore, Crizer Lead XC To Victory, EC Golf & Volleyball Defeated

A second place finish by Anthony Spadafore and strong performance by Colton Crizer led Ellwood City to its cross country victory on Tuesday at Laurel. Ellwood City defeated host Laurel, (17-44), Union (15-50), and Freedom (15-50) at the meet. Spadafore finished with a time of 18:15, good for 2nd place, while Joel Brooks (18:23, 3rd place), Crizer (18:31, 4th place), Ian Stoneking (19:33, 6th place), and Nick Wise (19:39, 7th place) helped in the victory. “Crizer ran a great race,” said head coach Mark Hall. Reisinger Helps Lead Pioneers; Volleyball Coach Nets 400th Victory

Rob Snyder won his 400th career game as coach of the Butler County Community College volleyball team Monday night as the Pioneers swept Penn State-Beaver at BC3’s Field House. Breanna Reisinger, a freshman outside hitter and graduate of Lincoln High in Ellwood City, led the Pioneers with four aces and added seven kills against the Nittany Lions. “Rob,” Reisinger said, “was very quiet about this. ROUND-UP: Clean Sweep For Ellwood City Sports On Thursday

Ellwood City posted a clean sweep Thursday afternoon with girls tennis, co-ed golf, and volleyball all collecting victories. The Ellwood City Girls Tennis Team defeated Beaver Falls 5-0 to even their record to 1-1 on the season.  Maddy McCommons (6-1, 6-0) and Rylea Heitzenrater (6-0, 6-0) collected singles victories. Olivia Andrew and Savannah Holsinger (6-0, 6-0) posted a victory in doubles. Two forfeits aided the Wolverines victory. Ellwood City & Riverside Girls Volleyball Seasons Underway

Both local girls volleyball teams have started their respective regular season campaigns this month. Ellwood City has seen significant gains in its short program history while the Riverside girls are starting their own journey with the launch of their volleyball program. For the Wolverines, their volleyball program has ascended to new levels over the past few years. After reaching the WPIAL quarterfinals (and losing to North Catholic) in 2019, Ellwood City broke through for its first semifinal win and championship match appearance last year. Proclamation Presented to EC Girls Volleyball Team

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City girls volleyball team, remarking on the team’s outstanding accomplishments. The team finished with a 17-1 overall record earning a Class 2A, Section 1 championship and WPIAL Finals appearance. “Proud of this special group on an outstanding season!” said Mayor Court in a statement. “Congratulations girls!” The Wolverines were ousted by North Catholic 3-1 in the WPIAL Class 2A championship November 7 at Fox Chapel, suffering their lone defeat of the season. The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball Team are conference champions! The Lady Wolverines defeated Shenango 3-1 Thursday evening, extending their unbeaten season (12-0 overall) and clinching its MAC Conference Championship. “It feels so great to be undefeated section champs, especially when we know we had to battle for some of those matches,” said head coach Jenna Ricciuti.
