The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball team defeated Mohawk in straight sets (3-0) Tuesday evening on their senior night at Lincoln High School gymnasium. The girls ousted the visiting Warriors 25-13, 25-6, and 25-12 to earn their ninth victory of the regular season. Rob Snyder won his 400th career game as coach of the Butler County Community College volleyball team Monday night as the Pioneers swept Penn State-Beaver at BC3’s Field House. Ellwood City posted a clean sweep Thursday afternoon with girls tennis, co-ed golf, and volleyball all collecting victories. The Ellwood City Girls Tennis Team defeated Beaver Falls 5-0 to even their record to 1-1 on the season.  Maddy McCommons (6-1, 6-0) and Rylea Heitzenrater (6-0, 6-0) collected singles victories. Both local girls volleyball teams have started their respective regular season campaigns this month. Ellwood City has seen significant gains in its short program history while the Riverside girls are starting their own journey with the launch of their volleyball program. Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City girls volleyball team, remarking on the team’s outstanding accomplishments.
