The Ellwood City Lady Wolverines finished Week One of volleyball on a high note, earning a three-set sweep of the rival Riverside Panthers on Saturday afternoon. The victory came after defeating the South Side Rams 3-2 on Thursday. SPORTS: Wolverines Volleyball Opens Season With Victory, EC Tennis Defeated

Ellwood City Girls Volleyball has officially started for the Lady Wolverines as they defeated the Ambridge Bridgers in three straight sets to pick up the early season victory. The Wolverines came right out of the gate, having a double-digit lead in the first set, ultimately winning 25-19. Ellwood City did one better yet in the second set, winning 25-18 to go up two sets to none. All-American Reisinger Returns For Nationally Ranked BC3 Volleyball Squad

Ellwood City graduate Breanna Reisinger headlines a group of decorates starters returning to the The Butler County Community College volleyball squad this fall. Two All-Americans, a middle hitter selected to a national championship all-tournament team, and three other starters who as first-year players in 2021 led the Pioneers to a 12th consecutive winning season and a sixth-place national finish. The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday August 10, 2022, and recognized student athletes from Lincoln and Riverside Schools for their accomplishments these past school years. The Club recognizes local citizens who excel in their school or perform volunteer work in the community, epitomizing the Clubs moto: “Pro Bono Publico”-For the Good of the Public. BC3 Volleyball Team Finishes 6th Overall In National Championships

The Butler County Community College volleyball team finished the 2021 season with the program’s 12th consecutive winning record and first national ranking since 2016, titles in its conference, region and district, and a sixth-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III championships in Rochester, Minn., on Saturday. Lincoln High School graduate Breanna Reisinger had 10 kills, including six in the third set, and Morgan Jack had 29 assists as the Butler County Community College volleyball team swept Rockland Community College on Thursday afternoon in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III championships at the Rochester Regional Sports Center. The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball team defeated Mohawk in straight sets (3-0) Tuesday evening on their senior night at Lincoln High School gymnasium. The girls ousted the visiting Warriors 25-13, 25-6, and 25-12 to earn their ninth victory of the regular season. A second place finish by Anthony Spadafore and strong performance by Colton Crizer led Ellwood City to its cross country victory on Tuesday at Laurel. Ellwood City defeated host Laurel, (17-44), Union (15-50), and Freedom (15-50) at the meet.
