Riverside Lions Club Celebrates 60th Anniversary

The Riverside Lions Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary at the meeting held earlier this month on Wednesday, February 9th. The meeting was attended by 2nd VDG Maria Loudermilk, and Pam Flara, both members of the Riverside/Hopewell Branch Club. The club played games and 2VDG Maria gave out some prizes, we also enjoyed some cake.  There were handouts with information about what happened in 1962 and the price of things back then. Riverside Lions Club Continues The Good Deeds

The Riverside Lions Club made its presence known in the local community with several good deeds over the past several weeks. The club volunteered to ring the bell to help the Salvation Army collect donations at the Franklin Giant Eagle, on Friday December 17. Volunteers covered the shifts from 10 am until 6 pm. Riverside Lions Club Stays Busy With Hygiene Helpers, Food Drives

The Riverside Lions would like to thank the residents of the Ellwood City area and particularly Ellport for supporting our collections recently of both food supplies for the Holy Redeemer Food Bank and the Hygiene Helpers boxes located at the Franklin Township Giant Eagle and area Dollar General stores. The club has tried to stay busy in these unusual times according to King Lion, Chip Campbell. Riverside Lions Continues Hygiene Project With Hygiene Boxes At Local Stores

Riverside Lions Help Fix Up Franklin Park

Some members of the Riverside Lions and community volunteers painted the tables at Franklin Park on Monday. Joan Bowser, Jim and Gigi Davies, and Dana Baker, cleaned, scrapped and painted the picnic tables at Franklin Park, Monday July 19th. The Lions provided the paint through a donation from Lenore Bazzichi. Lions members Chip Campbell and Mike Milnes also helped in the project. Riverside Lions Club Participates in Work Weekend

District Governor Chips Campbell and Lion Mike Milnes of the Riverside Lions recently participated in a District 14 N Work Weekend at the Beacon Lodge Camp in Mt. Union, PA. The work weekend helps the camp get ready for the incoming campers. This has been maintained by the Lions of Pennsylvania and is designed specially to host the blind and visually impaired in the state. The complex offers three different areas for housing including a Children’s Village, Adult Village and the dorm buildings.
