Ellwood City Code Officer Requests Bagster’s be Removed

The Borough of Ellwood City has received numerous complaints about the “Green Bagster/ Dumpsters.” Remember that you must have them removed after you fill them. You get the “Bagsters” at various locations for $29.99. Removal is about $145.00. You must have them removed as it constitutes a buildup of trash and you may be subject to legal action. Yellow Ribbon Girls Carnival August 11

The Yellow Ribbon Girls, which are based out of Ellwood City, have a Carnival coming up on August 11 with proceeds to benefit the Yellow Ribbon Girls Care Package Postage Fund. RECAP: The Ellwood City Carpenter’s Project 17th Year

For five days each summer, the Ellwood City Carpenter’s Project teams up with churches around the area to complete exterior house projects throughout Ellwood City and Riverside school districts. This year the project is taking place from July 9 to 13. The Carpenter’s Project started back in 2002 when Chuck and Marsha Timblin of Calvin Presbyterian Church of Ellwood City wanted to see their church and other local churches come together for one summer to help those in the community who were either physically or financially unable to fix their homes on their own. The Carpenter’s Project is a group of volunteers that are spreading out around the community this week to paint, remove brush and fix lose boards etc. at peoples homes. There are 19 crews working together to help the homeowners out. Below we have photos taken from the Line Ave. and Massachusetts St. locations. The crew on Line Ave is scraping and repainting the homeowners porch and nailing down loose boards. The Crew on Massachusetts St. is clearing out overgrown shrubby for the homeowner.  


Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet Event Thursday June 21

Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet is hosting a very casual event on Thursday night at 6:30 in the Municipal Building. The purpose of the meeting is to share ideas of any interested group or person on what people can do to help Ellwood City grow and prosper. The meeting will be a baseline for those interested in helping Ellwood move forward by sharing their ideas and how they might be implemented.  


Evan Westlund Wins Ellwood City 2018 Beautification Award

On Monday, Mayor Anthony J. Court was honored to present to Evan Westlund of Mt. Vernon Drive, Ellwood City, the 1st 2018 Beautification Award Winner with a Yard Sign and a Gift Certificate at a local restaurant. This is the 2nd time Evan has been nominated and presented with this Award, once in 2013 at a previous address on Wampum Avenue and now at his Mt. Vernon Drive residence.
