Happenings for the Week BEGINNING Friday, August 10th, 2018:

Saturday, August 11th:

Summer Concert Series: Join Ellwood City Community Enrichment as they present the 2nd Avenue Project on Main at the Community Plaza beginning at 7pm! FREE admission and bring your chair. Contact ECCE at 724-758-5501 with questions. In the event of rain, the show will be held in the Lincoln High School Auditorium.

EC Football Fundraiser: Sweet Caroline’s is hosting a fundraiser for the Ellwood City Wolverines Football Boosters from 6-8pm. Plan to spend your evening on Lawrence Ave. meeting & supporting your hometown football team. There will be games, raffles, food, & a dunk tank! Sweet Caroline’s, The Sweet Shop, and National Grind will be donating tips to the Football Boosters.

Family Movie Night: The Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet is showing “Coco” at the Ewing Park Stage at 8pm. Free admission will include a dual inflatable slide from 8-9pm and featured movie giveaway.

“Summer of Art”: The Ellwood City Art Club is offering Saturday art classes lead by art club members. These classes are open to everyone and held at the Ellwood Area Family Center from 10am-12pm. Reservations are due 2 weeks prior to the class. Today’s class is learning to paint different water for ages 12+.

Monday, August 13th:

Lillyville Clothing Closet: Lillyville Church of God’s newest ministry’s purpose is to provide gently used/new clothing to needy families and/or individuals in the Franklin Township and surrounding areas. If you know of anyone that is struggling with financial hardships and would benefit from this ministry, please pass along this information. Lillyville’s Clothing Closet will be open from 5:30-7:30pm every 3rd Monday. Call the church at 724-758-8258 or Sue Lozovoy at 724-316-6771 with questions.

Thursday, August 16th:

Lillyville Church of God Food Pantry: The Lillyville Church of God is accepting non-perishable items or monetary donations every 3rd Thursday of the month. These donations are given to Franklin Township residents.

Summer Story Times: Join the Beaver County Library System at the Franklin Township Community Park at 1:30pm for stories, songs, and crafts. Must register at 724-847-1450.

Free Yoga: The North Sewickley Township Building (893 Mercer Rd, Beaver Falls) is offering FREE Yoga Classes every Thursday at 6:30pm. Contact Jerilyn Driscoll to reserve your spot! Call or text 412-592-5440 or email liveloveyogavibes@gmail.com to sign up.

Saturday, August 18th:

7th Annual Connoquenessing Creek Clean Up: The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance is organizing the Connoquenessing Creek Clean Up from 8am-5pm! Please help us restore this important waterway back to its beautiful, natural state by removing the physical garbage that consumes it. Register by (724) 371-0416 Or Just show up! Meet at Live Out Baptist Church (1718 PA-588, Fombell PA) at 8am. Lunch, snacks, beverages, work gloves and t-shirt provided. Cleanup needs: volunteers, rope, chains, tarps, pry bars, chainsaws, sledgehammers, metal ladders, washing stations, tin-cutters, hip waders, pressure washers, and brush cutters/weed eaters.

2nd Annual Good Samaritan Hospice Butterfly Release: Good Samaritan Hospice invites you to honor and celebrate the memory of your loved ones at Brady’s Run Park – Four Seasons Pavilion from 2-4pm. The event is free to attend, with butterflies to be released at $10 each. Walk-ups welcomed but pre-registration is highly encouraged by July 2 to guarantee a butterfly. Children are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
