Jean M. Spencer nee DeMauro, age 100, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2023. Jean was born to James and Tina DeMauro on April 4, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Ellwood City. Jean was married for 68 years to William A. Spencer who passed away on December 14, 2011. Family, community service and food were the most important things in life to Jean. Those interests were not mutually exclusive. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Karin Marie Nussbaum. Karin was born in Germany on March 12, 1957, to Hans and Erna (Belka) Nussbaum and came to America as a nine-month old. She grew up in Ellwood City in a happy neighborhood. She graduated from Ellwood City High School in 1977 and later from Jameson Nursing School in New Castle. She became a cardiac nurse and worked in Central Medical Hospital in Pittsburgh for a number of years. ln her youth, she loved camping, hiking and riding horses. Sally Lou (Lewis) LeViere 92 went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the love of her life, Sheldon “Shelly” LeViere Sr. on December 17, 2023. Angela K. Weller, Gibsonia, Pa., formerly a longtime resident of Hermitage, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 83.
