Carl Koziar, 67, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 art UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Carl was born in Ellwood City on November 5th, 1956 to the late George and Charlotte (McClelland) Koziar. He had graduated from Riverside High School and later from Capital Campus of Penn State University in August of 1978. Carl was a hard worker. He became a millwright welder in the maintenance department at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill. He then worked at the Alaron Corporation as operations manager. It is with complete sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Bonnie M. Poff, 77 of Franklin Township, on December 31st, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Poff was born on October 20th, 1946 in Calumet, Pennsylvania to Frank and Zethel (Weightman) Emanuel. She graduated from Hurst (Mt. Pleasant) High School and from Indiana University where she earned her master’s degree in Elementary Education, which was where she met her husband, Mike. Mr. Frank D’Ambrosio, 86, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, December 30th, 2023 at his residence. Mr. D’Ambrosio was born on May 9th, 1937 in Perry Twp. to the late Frank and Lizana (Innocent) D’Ambrosio, Sr. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. Frank had worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in West Mayfield in the cold draw department as a tube grinder until he retired. He was a Christian by faith. Stephen G. “Bimbo” Grinnen, 69, of New Beaver Borough passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence. Born February 23, 1954 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Helen Szilvasi Grinnen. Bimbo had graduated from Mohawk High School. He was a Veteran of the Army serving from 1970-1972. A man of all trades, he was a self-employed contractor along with being the owner/operator of the Mines and Meadows Valley View Campground.
