Mrs. Anna Fresca, 79, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Grove at Harmony. Anna was born on December 27, 1937 in Ellwood City to the late Ralph and Mary S. Pucci Annarumo. She had graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. A home maker, Anna enjoyed playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carmen Fresca in 1994, and her companion Edward L. “Abe” Cortez, Jr. in 2011. Mrs. Rosetta Chontos, 87, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in the Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD. Mrs. Chontos was born on February 13, 1930 in Ellwood City to the late Domenico and Louise M. Noschese Recce. Rosetta graduated from  Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. Martha E. Stelter, 75, of Moravia passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a short illness. Born September 13, 1941 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah Allen Crawford. She was married for 57 years to Chuck Stelter who survives. They were married November 24, 1959. Mr. Harry C. Boots, Jr., 79, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2017 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaver Falls. Mr. Boots was born in Ellwood City on July 17, 1937 to the late Harry and Rosalie Boots. He was a self employed eighteen wheeler. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for several local companies. Harry also enjoyed farming, growing vegetables and flowers. Mr. George A. Veres, 80, of Franklin Twp. passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Hospice. Mr. Veres was born on May 12, 1937 to the late Denes and Margaret Falcsik Veres. Margaret R. (Watson) Gioffre, of Koppel, died at home on July 1, 2017. Margaret’s husband, Lou Gioffre, died in 2002. They were happily married for 56 years. Margaret had a real zest for life, and she lived it to the fullest. She valued her family above everything and enjoyed springtime, sitting on her back porch, challenging her brain with crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
