Mary E. Zollum, 90, of Mahoney Avenue, Ellport passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born in West Aliquippa on July 14, 1927, Mary was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Golixer Novak.  Mary retired from Ro-Mar Textiles, formerly Dustproof, after 35 years of service.  A very active member of Holy Redeemer Parish, Mary was a member of its Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild.  She volunteered for over 25 years in the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria.  This last parish bazaar was the first Mary missed.  Mary was also a member…

John M. Tomon, 82 of Dutch Ridge Rd., Wayne Twp. passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Golden Hills Nursing & Rehab Home. Born in Chewton, PA on September 30, 1934 John was the son of the late John and Angela Gorzkowski Tomon.  John married the former Priscilla Snezic on October 10, 1959.  He retired from both the B & W and Ellwood Quality Steel where he worked as an electrician.  A graduate of Wampum High School, John was an Army veteran serving from 1954 through 1957.   An avid hunter, John was a member of the…

Mrs. Cynthia A. Pritts, 60, of Fombell passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Cindy was born on January 14, 1957 in Pittsburgh to the late Carl and Elizabeth M. Tonecha Zilka. She is a member of the Seneca Valley High School class of 1975. Cindy had worked at Eat N Park as a supervisor for many years. Mrs. Karen S. Ottaviani, 60, of Jamestown, Pa passed away at her residence on Monday, August 21, 2017. Mrs. Ottaviani was born on April 8, 1957 in Ellwood City to the late Richard Wright and Bertha Evans Wright of Franklin Twp.. She is a member of the Riverside High School class of 1975. Mr. Albert D. Ierullo, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the UPMC Jameson Memorial Hospital. Albert was born on November 11, 1928 in Ellwood City to the late Domenico and Mildred Fera Ierullo. He had attended Lincoln High School and is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. Albert served with the U.S. Army from February 28, 1951 with the 78th quartermaster base depot company until his discharge on February 12, 1953 and held the rank of Private First Class. Mr. John Albert Manzetti, 93, of Franklin Twp. passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center. John was a true part of the “Greatest Generation” and was the “real deal”.  He was a proud father of 2 boys, grandfather of 4 and great-grandfather of 5. Mrs. Helen M. Montgomery, 73, of Fombell passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Passavant Retirement Community. Mrs. Montgomery was born on November 30, 1943 in Leechburg to the late Herbert and Viola Wyrick. She is a member of the Leechburg High School class of 1961. She had worked at Reboard in Apollo, PA and later for Romar Textiles for 26 years as a seamstress. Helen also was a member of the former Knox Presbyterian Church and the Franklin Twp.
