Carter J. Huzinec, 20, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following complications of injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Carter was known for being the fun, playful, silly, kind hearted, helpful, hard working friend to all and was always able to put a smile on everyones face. He was a laborer at Universal Refractories in Wampum. He formerly worked at T & M Hardware. Carter graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 2018. Mrs. Gertrude E. Myers, 85, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Mrs. Myers was born on March 11, 1935 in Ellwood City to the late Edward and Emma (Burr) Hamilton. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953. Gertrude was employed by the Ellwood City Knitting Mill for 17 years and the Ellwood City Hospital in the housekeeping department from 1983 until her retirement in 2002.
