Louise Delores Volpe Vitullo, 90 of Ellwood City passed away at Northview Estates on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born in Ellwood City on September 1, 1931, Louise was the daughter of Frank “Grundy” and Stella DeVinney Volpe.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mauro Vitullo, on December 14, 2007. They were married on June 9, 1951.  Louise was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Church.  She was very active and played a major role in the Coronna D’Italia Lodge until their disbandment in 2019.  Louise enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.  She loved…

Mr. Carl F. Agostinelli, 93, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Agostinelli was a life long resident of Ellwood City, born on March 17th, 1928 to the late Carlo Nunzio and Yolanda (Angelilli) Agostinelli. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947, and later from the New Castle Business School. He enlisted with the U.S. Army on December 15th, 1950 and served in Germany with the 7774th Signal Battalion until his honorable discharge on October 23rd, 1956. Carol J. Pistachio, 74, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Carol was born in Ellwood City on May 17, 1947 to the late Samuel R. and Lucy (Armalinda) Pistachio. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1965, and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University. Carol worked for Penn State University, Beaver Campus as a librarian. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, and was a volunteer for the Ellwood City Historical Society. Cancelliere and Sandra Leann (Barnett) Ringle. She is a member of the Riverside High School class of 1981, and the Lillyville Church of God. She also attended the Phoenix Drop In Center in Rochester. Merle H. Rhodes, 76 of Youngstown, OH formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Canfield Place Assisted Living. Born in Olean, NY on April 3, 1945, Merle was the son of the late Cleone L. and Millie Remington Rhodes.  Merle was an operations supervisor for Columbia Gas Transmissions.  He was a veteran of the Army serving with the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam and Korea.  Merle will be remembered as a kind and accepting person with a good sense of humor, who never met a stranger.  He always knew how to light up a room.  He…
