Longtime Ellwood City resident Rodney William Bird, 53, passed away at his residence on Friday, February 19th, 2021 after a long and courageous battle fighting cancer. Rodney was born on October 4, 1967 in Pittsburgh to the late Robert “Bob” Bird and Lynn Kay (Wilson) Bird of Chippewa Twp. He is a member of the Beaver Falls High School class of 1986. Mr. Frederick “Rick” B. McDowell, 68, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, February 18th, 2021 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Rick was born on November 15th, 1952 in New Castle to Boyd and Mary Ellen (Vogt) McDowell. Rick graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971, and attended the Beaver County Community College. Mrs. Edith (Rocco) Pacella, 95, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Jameson Health Center in New Castle where she had been admitted three days earlier. Born in Ellwood City on Sept. 19, 1925, to the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Arena) Rocco, Edith was a lifelong member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish. She was married for 54 years to Arthur B. Marsha L. McKinney, 70, of New Brighton passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at her residence following a brief battle with cancer. Born May 20, 1950 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Lenora L. Widdowfield McKinney. Marsha graduated from Riverside High School in 1968. She worked in the Quality Control Department at Weyerhaeuser for over 30 years. She also formerly worked as the front desk clerk at the former Holiday Inn and current Wyndham Hotel in Beaver Falls. Frank Shultz Jr., 74, of West Pittsburg passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness. Born July 1, 1946 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Broznich Shultz. Frank graduated from New Castle High School in 1964. He was a self employed house painter. William “Lucky” Loccisano, 74, of Ellwood City, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
