Umberto “Birdie” Carosi Jr., 92

Mr. Umberto “Birdie” Carosi Jr., 92, of Perry Township passed away on October 21st, 2022 at The Grove in Harmony.

Birdie was born on June 21st, 1930 in Ellwood City to the late Umberto and Josephine (Maggi) Carosi Sr.. He attended Lincoln High School, and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Birdie worked for U.S. Steel, and Elcast as a shift supervisor, and later for Del-Mar Golf Course as a grounds supervisor and starter. He was an avid bowler and golfer, who enjoyed working with his hands, whether it be in the kitchen cooking, or outside gardening and woodworking. He was member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rozanne (Onufer) Carosi whom he married on July 4th, 1981, sons, Dan (Teresa) Carosi of Beaver Falls, Joseph (Melanie) Carosi of Beaver Falls, Thomas (Missy) Carosi of Ellwood City, and Timothy (Anna) Carosi of Ellwood City, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, Carolina “Chick” Ottavio of Ellwood

City, and Josephine (John) Minicuci of Clinton Twp., MI, and brother, Arcangelo Carosi of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Yolanda (Celli) Carosi, and his brothers, Arcangelo (in infancy), Lawrence, and Emilio Carosi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25th from 2-4, and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 26th at 10:00 am at Divine Grace Parish. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted.

Memorial donations is Birdie’s name may be made out to the charity of the donor’s choice.
