Catherine “Kay” Thompson, 101, of Ellwood City passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at Northview Estates. Born August 19, 1922 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Esther Cora Shaffer Marshall. She was married to Robert G. Thompson for 59 years. Catherine graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. Throughout her life she was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Camp Run Presbyterian Church, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Scottsboro, Alabama. Mrs. Ann Walker, 80, of Freedom passed away on Monday, July 29th, 2024 at the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township. Ann was born in Ellwood City on January 19th, 1944 to the late Adam and Rose (DeBlasio) Vincik. She worked for Rockwell Spring Works in New Castle, and then at Leeds and Northrup as a machine operator. Ann enjoyed camping and fishing. Winifred Goatley Daniel, 86

“Though she be but little, she is fierce.” On July 18, 2024, Winifred Yvonne Goatley Daniel departed this life at the home of her daughter after a short illness. Born in Chewton, PA August 20, 1937 to William and Imogene Goatley, she graduated from Wampum High School (’55) and Central State University (BA ’60). Jim Morton of Ellwood City passed away on July 23, 2024 after a two month battle with Glioblastoma. He was peacefully surrounded and wrapped in love by his family. Jim is now playing in the clouds with his very-beloved bulldog Ella Mae. Jim was born in Corry, PA on October 13, 1953 to the late Mary Morton and Fredrick Silvis.
