Overview: Winter Sports

The winter sports athletes at Ellwood and Riverside are looking forward to their upcoming season and have undoubtedly endured aggressive practices in hopes that the hard work will pay off in the end. “We’ve been conditioning, working hard, and getting comfortable doing what we do in order to brace ourselves for the competition,” Jordan Recce, a senior basketball player at Ellwood stated. Adult Season Tickets: Ellwood City Varsity Basketball

Adult Season Tickets, for Ellwood City Boys Varsity Basketball, will be on sale in the High School office. The cost is $20, and the tickets are good for all regular season home games (excludes Tip-Off Classic 12/9-12/10). Adult Season Tickets for Girls Varsity Basketball will be available at the gate of each home game, and the cost is also $20. All tickets at the door will be $5 for adults, $2 for students, and $1 for senior citizens. Lincoln High Swimmer Signs Letter of Intent

Taylor Petrak, a senior swimmer at Lincoln High School, signed her letter of intent today at the high school in the presence of her parents, Patti and Jay Petrak, after she was offered an athletic scholarship by Ohio State University. The intent stated Petrak will be swimming for Ohio State University over the next four years while she attends college there. Riverside Football Student Tickets On Sale

Student tickets for Friday night’s home WPIAL football playoff game against Avonworth will be on sale in the Riverside High School athletic office from 7:15am to 1:00pm only. Tickets will not be on sale during lunches. Tickets will be on sale in the middle school office during lunch times. Pre-sale student tickets are $5.00 if bought in advance. Registration Open For Annual Gobbler’s Gallop On Thanksgiving

The 21st annual Gobbler’s Gallop will take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, at Riverside High School’s Memorial Stadium. The 10K run starts at 9 a.m. followed by a 5K run at 10:15 a.m. Participants in the 5K walk can walk the course anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. November 18th is the last day to pre-register at the lower price – $15 for the 10K, 5K or walk or $18 for both the 5K and the 10K runs.
