Adult Season Tickets, for Ellwood City Boys Varsity Basketball, will be on sale in the High School office. The cost is $20, and the tickets are good for all regular season home games (excludes Tip-Off Classic 12/9-12/10). Adult Season Tickets for Girls Varsity Basketball will be available at the gate of each home game, and the cost is also $20. All tickets at the door will be $5 for adults, $2 for students, and $1 for senior citizens. Taylor Petrak, a senior swimmer at Lincoln High School, signed her letter of intent today at the high school in the presence of her parents, Patti and Jay Petrak, after she was offered an athletic scholarship by Ohio State University. The intent stated Petrak will be swimming for Ohio State University over the next four years while she attends college there. Student tickets for Friday night’s home WPIAL football playoff game against Avonworth will be on sale in the Riverside High School athletic office from 7:15am to 1:00pm only. Football is a four quarter sport and has been such for many years.  The Wolverines and Panthers found out last night during the 31st rendition of the “Riv-Ell Cup” rivalry match-up between the Riverside Panthers 5-2 (5-1)  and the Ellwood City Wolverines 0-7 (0-6) that sometimes four quarters is not enough to determine the victor. The 21st annual Gobbler’s Gallop will take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, at Riverside High School’s Memorial Stadium. The 10K run starts at 9 a.m. followed by a 5K run at 10:15 a.m. Participants in the 5K walk can walk the course anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. November 18th is the last day to pre-register at the lower price – $15 for the 10K, 5K or walk or $18 for both the 5K and the 10K runs. The Riverside Girls and Boys Soccer Teams qualified for the WPIAL Playoffs.  Furthermore, this is the first time in school history the girls soccer team has advanced to the playoffs. The girls will open the playoffs this Monday, October 24, 2016 against Seton LaSalle at Moon High School at 6PM. The bus will leave at 3:45PM The boys team begins the playoffs on Saturday, October 22, 2016 against Obama Academy at Cupples Stadium at 2PM. The bus will leave at 11:30AM. Also, Skyler Fox qualified for the PIAA Individual Golf FINALS in Hershey.
