Ellwood City School District Forced to Hire Private Security for Games

There have been rumors going around that Ellwood City School District will no longer be provided with Ellwood City police officers for security at their high school sporting events, leaving it up to the school district to hire a private security company. Though Ellwood City’s Mayor, Anthony Court, confirmed the rumors to be true, he said said the issue is likely to be temporary. We also spoke with one of the school board members, LeRoy Cortez, who stated that the school has had a long-standing contract with the borough to provide security at games, which they’ve never had a problem…

2016 Riverside Panther Night

Yesterday held Riverside’s annual Panther Night, where hundreds of people gathered in celebration of recognizing this year’s fall sports teams. The night of festivities included raffles, concessions, band and cheering performances, and of course, introducing all of the team members. All of the teams have trained hard and are excited for their upcoming competitions. Autograph Night: Pittsburgh Pirates

Beaver County Auto will be holding an autograph night on Thursday August 18th from 5-7 p.m. benefiting The Josh and Brittney Harrison For Hope Foundation at its Nissan location in Chippewa Township. Pittsburgh Baseball stars Jordy Mercer, Tony Watson, and David Freese will be available to sign autographs and take pictures. There will also be a silent auction and raffles throughout the night for other great memorabilia.
