Three games in, three double-doubles for Joseph Roth. The Ellwood City junior big man has led the young, upstart Wolverines to an early 3-0 regular season record after the Wolverines wrapped up the Laurel Tip-Off tournament by defeating the host Spartans 61-46 Monday night. The Ellwood City Area School District Hall of Fame Committee is unveiling a new Hall of Fame to celebrate the professional achievements and athletic accomplishments of Lincoln Jr/Sr High School alumni. The Hall of Fame Committee was established this year with the mission to honor and recognize those individuals and teams associated with Lincoln High School who have experienced significant accomplishments in their chosen sport and/or field. Rosenberger Signs With Barry University

Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida. Rosenberger has received a full academic and athletic scholarship and is pictured signing her paperwork last Friday, November 18th at Riverside High School Rosenberger is a 1B/LHP senior captain for the Lady Panthers Varsity Softball team. In keeping with a recent annual tradition, the Ellwood City winter sports student-athletes will be a part of a ‘Meet The Wolverines’ night at Lincoln High School large gymnasium. The event is scheduled for Thursday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with introductions of winter sport teams, and performances by cheerleaders and the Lincoln High School Marching band. LHS Standout Softball Player, Aliya Garroway Commits to Saint Francis University

Lincoln High School Senior Aliya Garroway verbally committed to Saint Francis University of the NEC last Thursday. She will sign her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 9th at Lincoln High School. SFU, located in Loretto Pa, is coached by Jessica O’Donnell. The team has won 5 consecutive NEC titles and participated in the NCAA tournament over that same span. The University is a tremendous academic institution and is also one of the top 50 Division 1 softball programs in the country. Four Panthers scored to propel Riverside to a 28-0 road victory over the Wolverines Friday night during the Ellwood City Senior Night. After a scoreless first frame, backers Robert Janis and Noah George collected touchdown runs in the second quarter to help the visiting Panthers to an early 14-0 lead. Fluharty, Wissinger, Custer Qualify For PIAA Cross Country Championships

Three local athletes have qualified for the upcoming PIAA State Cross Country Championships. Riverside junior Lexi Fluharty finished runner-up Thursday afternoon in the WPIAL Class-A Cross Country Championships held at California University of Pennsylvania. Fluharty finished with a time 19:58.4. Joining Fluharty in qualifying for next week’s state championships is fellow junior Brooke Wissinger who finished with a 9th place time of 21:38.4. Wilmington Hockey Earns First Victory Of Season, Defeats Central Valley 9-5

The Wilmington Hockey team defeated Central Valley 9-5 at Hess Ice Rink Monday evening, earning its first victory of the young season. On Monday, Andrew Cartwright (Union) and Noah King (Wilmington) each collected five points to lead Wilmington offensive charge. BC3 Volleyball Wins Region 20 Crown, Earns Berth To North Carolina

On her final pass in her last home game, All-American Morgan Jack set up the kill Saturday that sent the No. 1-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team to a district championship tournament in North Carolina and the setter to the top of BC3’s career list in assists. The kill by fellow All-American Breanna Reisinger completed BC3’s sweep of Howard Community College in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 20 championship tournament in BC3’s Field House. Riverside made easy work of the visiting Lions Friday night and claimed a playoff berth with their 52-7 blow out victory over New Brighton. The Panthers raced out to early leads of 20-0 after one quarter and a 40-0 advantage at halftime in the Midwestern Athletic Conference action.
