Wolverine Football Players Face Suspension After Incident Last Friday

Some Ellwood City football players will be facing suspension after a brawl last Friday night following the football game versus Valley. According to an article on New Castle News, Principal Kirk Lape stated the school was notified by the PIAA that players had been disqualified from the contest with Valley and will now be required to sit out Friday’s home game against Beaver. Lape, athletic director Curt Agostinelli, and head coach Nick Hand will be meeting with Valley and WPIAL officials to further discuss the incident. At this time it is unclear which individuals have been suspended.

Lincoln High Grad Sparks BC3 to Golf Victories for Fourth Time in Row

(Greensburg, PA)  — Tyler Good, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate in his fourth appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, shot a 2-over-par 74 Friday to lead BC3 for the fourth consecutive match and to victories against Westmoreland County Community College and Penn State-Fayette at Valley Green Golf and Country Club.  BC3 (12-1) posted a score of 311 on the 6,166-yard course in topping Westmoreland (327) and Penn State-Fayette (330).  In addition to Friday, Good was also BC3’s medalist on Sept. 24 by shooting a 4-over 76 over the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce at Pittsburgh North Golf Club, Bakerstown;…

Lincoln High Grad Fires 76, Sparks BC3 to Win for Third Time in Three Outings

Bakerstown, PA – Tyler Good, a 2017 graduate of Lincoln High School in his third appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, led the Pioneers to victory for the third consecutive match by firing a 3-over 76 Sunday against the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce at Pittsburgh North Golf Course. Good’s 76 was a stroke better than that of CCAC-Boyce’s Holden Hitchcock. PHOTOS: Alex’s Lemonade Stand Competition

Last Friday, a teacher from Ellwood City and Beaver Falls squared against each other in a football-tossing challenge, called Alex’s Lemonade Stand, to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer. The fundraising idea came from Cara Atkinson, leader of the Hope Club at Ellwood City, who said the outcome was definitely worth it and that she hopes to do it again next year. Ellwood won raising $982 and Beaver Falls raised $502. $300 was raised at the game and Ellwood continued their fundraising all this week to hopefully reach a final goal of $2,000. Lincoln High Grad Leads BC3 Golfers to Victory Again

Butler, PA – Tyler Good, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate in his second appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, shot a 9-over 81 Tuesday to lead the Pioneers to victories over Westmoreland County Community College and the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce in BC3’s home opener at Lake Arthur Golf Club. Lincoln High Grad Stars in BC3 Golf Debut

Tyler Good, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate in his first appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, shot a 4-over 76 Friday to lead the Pioneers to an eight-stroke victory over Westmoreland County Community College in Apollo. Stiefel Hockey Summer Season Wrapup: Firing Squad and Goose Take Division Titles

The Stiefel Hockey league completed its summer season by crowning champions in both its “A” and “B” divisions.  In the “A” division Goose captured the title after sweeping Young’s Barber Shop in a best of 3 championship.  Matt Puntureri led the way for Goose picking up 21 goals in 4 playoff games with help from his brothers Nate, Michael, and Tyler. T.J. Hervatine was also a valuable player in the playoffs, Neil Parrish remained solid in net for another season with Goose.  Including the regular season and playoffs, Goose outscored their opponents by 132 to 46 in completing an undefeated…

PHOTOS: Wolverines tame the Tigers, Break the Streak

The Wolverines came into the evening with their backs against the wall – 0-2 on the season, a 14-game losing streak, and more importantly, the defending 3A State Title team was their opponent for week 3. But when push came to shove, the Wolverines proved stronger – ousting the Tigers in commanding fashion 28-0 Friday night. Lemon Toss Challenge: “More Than Just a Fundraiser”

As part of childhood cancer awareness month, two local teachers have decided to take part in raising awareness and funds for the cause by organizing a lemon toss challenge at the Wolverines, Beaver Falls football game this evening.
