Student tickets for this Friday’s, Ellwood City Boy’s Varsity Basketball Game versus Riverside are on sale in the high school office. The cost is $2 per ticket. No student tickets will be sold at the door for this game. All tickets at the door will be $5 general admission and $1 for senior citizens.

Although Anthony Roth put 14 points on the scoreboard, Lincoln fell to Farrell 45-43 Wednesday night in non-section play. Kyi Wright connected on a driving shot with under five seconds the play that turned into the game winner for Farrell. Ellwood City Wolverines scored early in the game, boasting a 19-18 lead at the half, but Farrell ultimately came back for the victory after trailing by three points entering the final frame. Butler, PA– Madison Morella, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate and freshman on a Butler County Community College volleyball team that in October captured its 14th Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference title since 1977, is one of 19 BC3 fall sports athletes named to the WPCC all-academic team. Lincoln won 66-54 against Mohawk Area on Tuesday with the help of Broc Boariu, who scored 22 points. Ellwood City Wolverines pulled away early with a 22-point first quarter after an impressive 22-2 run, eventually claiming a 36-20 lead by halftime. For some, the buzz of Friday Night’s boys basketball game may have worn off by the end of the weekend, but if anyone needed another reason to get excited for high school basketball action, the buzz resurfaced Monday Night during the Panthers and Wolverines girls basketball game in Ellwood City. The Lady Panthers ousted the Lady Wolverines 45-31 in a game that saw a defensive struggle for much of the first half. Nick Hand, head football coach, said the following items are needed for the field house at Helling Stadium — a washer and dryer, shower size towels, hand soap and shampoo. Austin Walley placed 1st in the 170-pound class at MAC Wrestling Tournament held this weekend to lead an Ellwood City wrestling team that finished 7th out of 16 teams.
