POLICE REPORTS: Bar Fights And Assaults

Bar Side Assualt. Michael Johnson was just spending his Thursday night playing pool at the Breakers Bar in Ellport on Thursday, March 28, when Mark Beachum Jr. came in and caused a little ruckus. According to a police report, Johnson was leaving when Beachum attacked him. The force of Beachum’s attack brought Johnson to the ground as he sustained injuries to his head and body, luckily none of which were too serious. POLICE: Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Confiscation; Women Charged With Abuse Of Corpse

DUI Arrest Leads To Drug Confiscation  On Wednesday, March 26, 23-year-old Cody Crawford, of New Castle, was arrested after police pulled him over on 5th Street for reckless driving. Reports state Crawford was “on Lawrence Avenue traveling all over the roadway” in his 2018 Chevy Impala. He was spotted at a red light at the intersection at 5th Street and Spring Avenue, where he pulled into the furthest right parking space and waited for the light to turn green.  When it did turn green, Crawford continued on, straddling the yellow lines as he went. Two Hartman Elementary Students Received Commendations

Two students, Jacob Hembly age 12 and Rondele Irving age 11, received commendations from the Ellwood City Police Department and Mayor Anthony Court for the students “Doing The Right Thing”. In addition, the ECPD presented the students with gift certificates from Domino’s Pizza for “Doing The Right Thing”. On February 12, at 6:00 p.m., the two students were playing in the area of the 5th street bridge when they discovered a handgun lying in some weeds. Aliquippa Man Convicted Of Assault In A Stabbing Case An Aliquippa man that was accused of stabbing another man after a fight in Aliquippa, has been convicted of assault. A jury found Carl Zedak, 52, guilty of aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. However, he was found not guilty of attempted homicide and possession of an instrument of crime, according to court records. This verdict was announced on Thursday. Local Women Loses $529 Due To Fraud On Monday, March 18 at 11:09 a.m., an elderly woman called the Ellwood City Police to report four pending transactions on her card that she did not make. These transactions include two for $30 from Barnes & Nobles and two plain $30 transactions, and a final unknown transaction for $529. The police are currently still investigating this after they had received official bank statements from the woman. Ellwood City Man Admits He Trafficked Cocaine

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced on Monday. Jeffrey Vitale, 29, of Ellwood City pleaded guilty to one count before Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that on or about February 16, 2018, Vitale distributed and possessed with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance. POLICE: Social Security Telephone Scam Reported

The Ellwood City Police Department is warning residents against a scam in which a caller is looking to gain Social Security numbers and money. Residents said a person pretending to be an employee of the Social Security Administration — and whose phone number sometimes appears on caller ID as a legitimate number for the agency — has been contacting residents. POLICE: $1,000 Television Stolen From Women’s Home

$1,000 Television Stolen From Women’s Home.  On Sunday, February 24 at 10:52 p.m. Ellwood City police reported to an address on Fourth Street that was found to be the residence of Ashley Hall-Worrell. Worrell claimed that when she came home, she noticed the window on the south side wall of her living room had been removed and her 55 inch Samsung television had been taken from the wall. The television costs around $1,000. Four Children Taken From Ellwood Home, Child Endangerment Cited

After Robert Reisinger, 72, called into Ellwood City police on January 16, regarding a robbery, an Ellwood City woman was left charged with child endangerment. Reisinger claimed Kortney May, 27, had come into his store and stole his wallet. The wallet contained $150 in cash, as well as his credit card. When police arrived at May’s home, the door was answered by two of her children, 10 and 7 years old. Two Ellwood City Men Plead Guilty To Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH – Two residents of Ellwood City, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced earlier this week. Dylan Main, 22, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.
