THEFT/CRIME BY DECEPTION: Ryan Hayes, 24, Sharon, is charged with Theft and Crime By Deception after an incident on March 25th in Wayne Township. According to a PA State Police report, a 43-year-old victim, of Ellwood City, reported a theft by Hayes whereas the victim sent Hayes $500.00 for a shed deposit and was going to give the rest of the money when picking up the shed. The victim related Hayes agreed and then stopped answering the victim once he received the deposit money. Hayes later refused to return the money to the victim or proceed with the sale. PUBLIC…


VIDEO: Local Man Seriously Injured After Heavy Machinery Accident

According to a Pittsburgh news source, a Lawrence County man was seriously injured when he fell off some heavy machinery and was subsequently run over by it. According to a fire chief, a man was operating a brush hog and had fallen off. He was working in his yard on Dutch Run Road near Ellwood City, fell off and a neighbor had heard him yelling for help. ASSAULT: A 27-year-old female from New Castle is charged with Simple Assault and Harrassment after an incident on April 10 in Wayne Township, Lawrence County. According to the PA State Police report, Caitlin Gardner engaged in a verbal altercation with her 56-year-old mother that led to Gardner pushing her mother as she left her residence on Ellwood Road. PITTSBURGH – A resident of New Castle, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of violating federal narcotics laws, Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced Monday. The four-count Indictment, returned on April 7 and unsealed today, named Deia Eggleston, age 46, as the sole defendant. According to the Indictment, from January 2017 through May 2019, Eggleston conspired with individuals known and unknown to possess with the intent to distribute and distribute Schedule I and Schedule II substances, including acetyl fentanyl, fentanyl, crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine. Ellwood City Man Dies In 2-Vehicle Crash In West Deer Township

An Ellwood City man died in a two-vehicle crash in West Deer on Monday morning. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man on Tuesday as Mark Tedrow, 35. The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. in the 300 block of Deer Creek Valley Road. According to West Deer police Chief Jon Lape, Tedrow was driving a box truck south on Deer Creek Valley Road when just south of Tarentum-Culmerville Road he veered off the road for about 50 feet. VEHICLE FIRE: On February 15, at approximately 1:32 a.m., a Fombell man was involved in a vehicle fire on Route-18 in North Beaver Township. According to the report, police responded to a report of a PennDOT salt truck that was on fire in the area of PA-18 and Gilmore Road in Lawrence County. According to the information provided by driver, Ronald McElwain, 54, the salt truck was traveling north when he heard a pop, and smoke started filling the cabin.
