Corona D’Italia Lodge Monthly Meeting Recap

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 resumed their monthly meetings on Wednesday, September 12 at 5:00pm. The session was held at Pizza Joe’s and began with a luncheon hosted by the President, Clemmy Sirimarco and served by Historian, Mary Jane Folino and Sentinel, Lois DiFrischia. The business meeting began with open discussion as changes are needed due to illness, work schedules and relocation. President, Sirimarco, will be leaving the area and remain a member. Bernstine to Host Concealed Carry Rights and Safety Seminar

ELLWOOD CITY – As a way for local residents to further understand their rights with respect to the state’s firearms laws and protections, Rep. Municipal Women’s Club Host Las Vegas Impersonator Tim Beasley

The Ellwood City Municipal Women’s Club hosts the Las Vegas Impersonator Tim Beasley on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00pm with doors opening at 6:00pm. Event will take place at the SOI Hall on Lawrence Avenue.  Tim Beasley has 32 years of experience as a performer traveling the country doing shows in a variety of venues; including Las Vegas. Beasley will be performing a two hour show impersonating Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. A show that is sure to evoke fond memories and might even encourage some dancing. There will be a ticket cost of a $25 donation per person….

Ellwood City Community Enrichment and the Ellwood City Area Public Library hosted Ellwood City’s 17th Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Ewing Park. The festival is a beloved community event that had featured free activities for children and professional storytellers. Katy’s Homestyle Bakery, Custom Cakes by Jodie, and an ice cream truck had been set up for attendees to purchase sweets. There was also free balloon art, face painting, and horse-drawn trolley rides. Congratulations to the Lincoln High School 2018 Homecoming Queen Court! The court that was announced last week includes Kaitlyn Francis, Bella Rangel, Mia DeCaria, Ariana Garroway, Natalia Greco, Katherina Boesendorfer, Madeline Spadafore, Isabella Roth, and Maura Agostinelli. Busy Beaver Set To Open New Location On Ellwood Road

Based on information made available on their social media page, Pittsburgh-based Busy Beaver will open its newest store located at 2640 Ellwood Road in New Castle, PA 16101 on September 14, 2018. This location, just north of the Lawrence Village Plaza, is the third new store that has opened for the neighborhood home improvement retailer this year. Similar to Busy Beaver’s new Grove City and Greenville, PA locations that opened earlier in 2018, the 40,000 sq. ft. VIDEO: Man Opens Fire Inside Local Bar When Told To Leave

According to a publish report and video, a regular at a local bar who didn’t want to leave at closing time opened fire overnight Tuesday at a Weisz’s Hazel Manor in Ellwood City.  According to reports the patron refused to leave the establishment which led to a verbal confrontation with the bar owner. With five people inside, including the owner, Michael Allen Henry, Jr., 26, of 185 Kindale Street pulled a 9mm gun out and put it on the bar.
