Beneigh Insurance has made its way into downtown Ellwood City this summer, taking over the old Wilson Insurance building, located on Sixth Street, in July. Eastern Star Soup Supper This Weekend

The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held  this weekend.  The event will be Friday, September 28th from 12:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m and is open to the public. The supper will be at Christ Presbyterian Church, located at 4th Street and Spring Avenue in Ellwood City, PA. Koppel Bridge Construction Continues, Currently Under Inspection

Construction is continuing on the $27.58 million Route 351 Koppel Bridge replacement project according to PA Department of Transportation Press Officer Steve Cowan. In addition, the current 102-year-old bridge will be under inspection through October 4th. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays as crews from the Larson Design Group conduct bridge inspection activities. Historical Society To Plan ‘History on the Street’ Event

The Ellwood City Historical Society held a special meeting to prepare for the upcoming Ellwood City Fall Festival and Car Show. The Society decided to hold a display outside the History Center on Fifth Street. The event will be called, “History on the Street.”  Featured items will be the Ellwood Sign that has lighted the way for the Arts Crafts and Food festival for over 30 years. Goal Set For Hartman School Playground Renovation

Twenty years ago, the Hartman School Playground was built. The playground had been originally intended to be used by children with ages ranging from 5-12, however in 2011 the district was restructured and now the playground is used mostly by children in the ages of 10-12. “Our students thrive in their education when physical activity is maximized,” said Principle Frank Keally in an email to EllwoodCity.org staff. REMINDER: Wayne Township Fall Cleanup Scheduled For Oct. 13

Wayne Township is conducting its annual fall clean up Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 8:00am until noon. A proof of residency will be required to participate.  There is a $10.00 charge per p/u truckload (no limit). 2018 Lincoln High Men’s Homecoming Court Results

Congratulations to the Lincoln High School 2018 Homecoming King Court! The court included Jake Alberts, Ethan Lordi, Joey Houk, Reed Angelucci, Rocco Sesti, Ethan Coy, Alex Fotia, and Caiden Myers. With Joey Houk crowned as king and Alex Fotia as runner up. The court itself is chosen by the varsity cheer squad. POLICE: Two Vehicle Break-Ins Reported In North Side Area

Two reports of vehicle thefts were reported this week on Ellwood City’s North Side – each reported within 24 hours of each other.   First, on Wednesday, September 19th, Erica Miller, of Hazel Avenue, reported that an unknown actor entered a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe parked in her driveway between 10:00 p.m and 7:30 a.m. Miller reported that her ashtray was removed which contained $3.00 to $4.00 dollars in change.
