Ellwood City & Beaver County Tree Disposal Information

With the Christmas season winding down, the once lively trees that brought joy and light up our homes are dying and needles are rapidly covering homes. From now until January 31, 2019, borough residents can drop these dying trees off at Stiefel Park. Due to the construction of the new public works building, the Christmas Tree drop off location has changed to the Women’s Softball (upper field) Field parking lot at Stiefel Park. Residents who drop off trees are reminded that they must remove all decorations and stands from the trees prior to the drop off. Please only drop off…

Ellwood City, PA – The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce their new Co-Executive Directors, Loralei Gallaher-Hink and Jillian Court. Loralei and Jillian will be working alongside each other as the Executive Director of Membership and the Executive Director of Media, respectively. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Local CEO and president of Ellwood Group Inc., David Barensfeld has been announced to appear on the “Raja Show” on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. The “Raja Show” is a KDKA-AM 1020 Radio Show with host Raja. Cioffi Awarded Commendation For Service To Community

On Monday, former borough manager Joe Cioffi was honored with a plaque as a commendation for his 60 years of service to the community by Mayor Anthony Court. Cioffi, 81, had been serving as a temporary interim manager while the borough looked to find applicants after it was decided by council not to renew the former manager’s, Robert Villella earlier this year. During his years serving the community Cioffi held positions as a teacher, administrator and a School Board  member. He was a baseball and basketball coach, church lector, Director of Parks and Recreation and served as Borough Manager for Ellwood…

SHARON – The Jets and the Sharks will take over the Armory of the Arts for seven days in January when the Chrysalis Stage Advanced Performing Arts Conservatory stages “West Side Story” in Sharon.
