Donation Collection Begins For Fireworks Fundraiser

Eric Rayner has officially began his Fireworks Fundraiser.

He will be updating the public on the progress of his efforts as well as the amount of money collected on a regular basis on his “Save the Ellwood City Fireworks 2019” Facebook page.

“I will update the Facebook page every night with updates on how much was raised,” Rayner said.

He has already seen support from the community

“The initial donations I received when meeting with Mayor Tony Court, Lt. David Kingston, council members Marilyn Mancini and George Celli, and Justin Neupauer of Alborn Tire Sales totaled $325,” Rayner said.

Community members have many ways to be able to help raise money.

Check Donations At Wesbanco:

If you do not want to donate online, or if your need a receipt Tax write off then you can donate at any WesBanco location via a check. Your check must be made out to the Ellwood festival committee and MUST have “fireworks account” written in the memo to ensure to goes to the correct account.

Tshirts:

Rayner is also selling Tshirts to raise money. The design is being chosen by a community vote on Rayner’s “Save the Ellwood City Fireworks 2019” Facebook page.

There will be two polls before the final design is unveiled and available for purchase.

Raynor said the Tshirts will be for sale by Venezie’s Sporting Goods in an online store for apparel and it should be available by Friday.

In Person Donation:

Rayner is working to set up in person donations at a couple locations in Ellwood City.

“We will also have at least 2 drop off locations days on a Saturday or Sunday,” He said. “Dates are to be determined very soon, where anyone can come donate cash or check in person. At least 1 of those days will be at National Grind coffee and tea shop. Again, dates to be determined very soon.”

The Festival Committee expressed their support for Rayner in an April 19 Facebook post.

“The Ellwood City Festival committee supports the efforts of Eric Rayner as he conducts his campaign to raise funds to pay for the 2019 Ellwood City Fireworks. The festival committee supports Eric’s campaign by covering the cost of traffic control, insurance, and the cost of the school district employee necessary for the firework show. These are the additional costs associated with the fireworks every year. The festival committee appreciates the widespread community support as evidenced by the response to Eric’s efforts. Thank you all!”
