Tickets On Sale For “West Side Story”

SHARON – The Jets and the Sharks will take over the Armory of the Arts for seven days in January when the Chrysalis Stage Advanced Performing Arts Conservatory stages “West Side Story” in Sharon. Tickets are now on sale at the conservatory’s web site, thechrysalisstage.org, for shows at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 and 19 and 24-26, and 3 p.m. Jan. 20 and 27. The Armory of the Arts, 49. S. (Butler, PA) Ellwood City native and Butler County Community College president Dr. Nick Neupauer will discuss Butler County Community College’s new downtown Butler initiatives and the advantages of a community college education when he becomes the first community college president in the state to appear on a cable television program that reaches 4 million Pennsylvania households. Two Ellwood City Men Plead Guilty To Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH – Two residents of Ellwood City, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced earlier this week. Dylan Main, 22, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. Anthony Washington, Jr., 26, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. North Side Positive Action Program Recognizes Local Heroes

On Monday, children at North Side Elementary school present Ellwood City’s police and fireman as a part of their December Positive Action Program. The idea for this to become a program came from a simple comment made by Dawn Santagata’s granddaughter. “My daughter mentioned to me that my granddaughter had asked her if she should be afraid of the police,” Santagata said. She proceeded to explain that the children only hear the negatives about the police; they hear about the cases on the television, on the radio, and even what their parents have to say involving the police. Holy Redeemer To Host Local Group “One Voice”

On Friday, local group “One Voice” will be performing at the Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.  The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm The program is titled “Oh Come Let Us Adore Him” and is said to be an advent Christmas program. Ellwood City School District Choir Performs At Community Plaza

On Wednesday, the Ellwood City Area School District Concert Choir gathered and sang Christmas carols at the Community Plaza. The brief concert began approximately 10:30am and was under the direction of Senior High Choral Director, Felicia Greco. This past Sunday the music department held its Annual Christmas Gift Concert at Lincoln High School. More than 250 students will be performing in this concert. At this time of year we all know that we only have so many days left to prepare for the Christmas holiday. Corona D’italia December Meeting, Lodge Disbanding

Officers and members of Corona D’italia #807 held their Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, December 5, at the Wolverine Restaurant. Chairman, Acting President, Valerie Valentino and Co-chairman, Lois DiFrischia, greeted the arrivals. Valentino checked reservations and gave door prize tickets, DiFrischia directed seating and presented each person with a 2019 journal and a Santa soap dispenser, provided by Valentino.
