Bernstine, PA Lawmakers Request Federal Regulatory Relief for PA Faith-Based Adoption Agencies

HARRISBURG – In an effort to ensure more foster children can find forever families, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) sent a letter last week to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requesting relief from federal regulations he says are being unconstitutionally imposed on faith-based adoption and foster care agencies in Pennsylvania. The letter, which was sent to HHS Assistant Secretary of Administration for Children and Families Lynn Johnson, was co-signed by more than 35 members of the Pennsylvania Legislature. Attention Lincoln and Riverside High School Seniors

The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching.  In hand, the deadline is Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.  The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors.  Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible.  Applications may be received from the High School Student Guidance Counselor or from the Ellwood City History Center. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include TUESDAY, ARIL 2 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested. POLICE: Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Confiscation; Women Charged With Abuse Of Corpse

DUI Arrest Leads To Drug Confiscation  On Wednesday, March 26, 23-year-old Cody Crawford, of New Castle, was arrested after police pulled him over on 5th Street for reckless driving. Reports state Crawford was “on Lawrence Avenue traveling all over the roadway” in his 2018 Chevy Impala. He was spotted at a red light at the intersection at 5th Street and Spring Avenue, where he pulled into the furthest right parking space and waited for the light to turn green.  When it did turn green, Crawford continued on, straddling the yellow lines as he went. Senator Vogel Introducing Farmer “Legacy” Tax Credit

Tenaris to Acquire TMK IPSCO Tubulars, Including Koppel Location

LUXEMBOURG, March 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tenaris S.A. (NYSE, Buenos Aires and Mexico: TS and MTA Italy: TEN) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire from PAO TMK, a Russian company and manufacturer of steel pipe, 100% of the shares of its wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary IPSCO Tubulars, Inc., for US$1,209 million, on a cash-free, debt-free basis, which includes US$270 million of working capital.
