Ellwood City School Board Finance Committee Meeting Scheduled

In a public meeting nocie announcement, the Ellwood City Area School Board of Directors has scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021 starting at 6:00 p.m. The combined Committee and Regular Board meeting will follow as previously scheduled. Attention Lincoln and Riverside High School Seniors: The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching. In hand deadline is Thursday April 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible. Ellwood City Wrestling Holding A Raffle Fundraiser

Even though the high school wresting season has ended, the Ellwood City Wrestling Booster Club is working to continue to raise funds for their team. With many prior fundraising activities cancelled due to COVID-19, the club will be holding a fundraising raffle to support junior high and varsity wrestling. The winner will receive a $500.00 gift certificate to Milk House Meats. The raffle is $10.00 per tip donation and can be purchased online.  The raffle closes once all tickets have been sold. Bernstine’s Markie’s Law Bill Passes House

HARRISBURG – In the wake of the 2019 murder of a child in Lawrence County, the House of Representatives today overwhelmingly passed legislation authored by Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) which focuses on the parole process for violent offenders. According to multiple media outlets, a Riverside Beaver County School District employee has been placed on administrative leave after reportings of inappropriate conduct with students. The announcement was made by a board member at Monday night’s school board meeting.
