FEMA To Offer COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Beginning Monday

In one of the largest programs of its type ever offered by the federal government, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) will begin accepting applications for Funeral Assistance on Monday, April 12, 2021 through a dedicated call center. The program is open to families regardless of their income, as long as they show documentation and have not already received similar benefits through another program. Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. Ewing Park Gets ‘Paw-some’ New Addition Thanks to Reed’s Services

Life can be “Ruff.” But not for the dogs in Ewing Park thanks to Reed’s Services. Located at the intersection near the Kids Creative Kingdom is a doggy destination: A new treat and waste station. The five-star, bright red, dog box is quite “fetching” and is full of yummy goodies. Reed’s is known for supporting Ellwood City, in fact this treat station, fully funded and donated by Reed’s, was inspired by their Christmas Tree during Ewing Park’s Christmas in the Park. BC3 To Award 11 New Scholarships

(Butler, PA) The Butler County Community College Education Foundation will award 11 new named scholarships to registered students for the 2021-2022 academic year. Scholarships are available to students who have registered for fall 2021 academic courses, to students in all of BC3’s 56 associate degree and 22 certificate programs, and to students attending all BC3 locations. The new named scholarships bring the foundation’s financial awards to 142, which collectively total approximately $200,000. Ewing Park Skateboard Area Gets Lights

Skaters will no longer have to do tricks and jumps in the dark while skateboarding in Ewing Park. Lights have been added to the skateboard park, and according to Councilman Caleb Cragle, the project itself and the cost of the lighting are minimal. Cragle is the Parks and Recreation Chair for the borough and said he spends a lot of time in the park with his daughter. REMINDER: Military Banner Submission Deadline Approaching

The Military Banners Programs approved by the Borough of Ellwood City earlier this year has a deadline fast approaching. “As some people may have heard the military banner project did get approved by council and with this, forms have been flowing in,” says organizer Gabby Gretch.
