Ellwood City Native Hosting Prize Bash Benefit Luncheon

There will be a Prize Bash Luncheon held at the Ellwood City Saxon Club on Saturday, April 27 starting at 1:00 p.m. This luncheon will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All proceeds will go towards Kelly Coccia’s LLS Pittsburgh Women Of The Year campaign. The Ellwood City native, Coccia, will be hosting this event as one of her fundraising events. The cost is a $15 donation which will get you lunch and 20 tickets to put towards the Chinese Auction that will be going on during the luncheon. Extra tickets will be offered at 10 tickets for $5. Stonecrest Golf Reorganizational Meeting Scheduled

The Stonecrest Golf League’s annual reorganizational meeting will be held on March 26 at the Stonecrest Clubhouse, 2298 Route 18 at 6:00 p.m. At this meeting, current members, and anyone interested in joining are encouraged to attend. League rules, schedule, outings, banquet, dues, membership deadline and other pertinent information will be discussed. The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are holding their spring symposium on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive in New Castle from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join Denise Schreiber, also known as “Mrs. Know it All” as she shares her knowledge of edible flowers. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include TUESDAY, MARCH 5 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested. Thursday Will be ‘Donnie Iris Day’ in Ellwood City. The Ellwood City Historical Society will be entertaining a celebration on Thursday, February 28, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.  Ellwood City Mayor Tony Court will present a proclamation to the popular local singer, who grew up in Ellwood City, during the celebration of his 76th birthday. Hopping Into Ellwood Area’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt

This year will mark the Ellwood Area Egg hunt Committee’s 24th annual Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will be on Saturday, April 13th with a starting time of 11:00 a.m. Any and all children 10 and under can participate in this event. The eggs will be hidden in Ewing Park this year. On top of these hunts, there will be a special needs hunt this year as well. The committee will be preparing for 700 children with 9,000 eggs being handed out. Pre-Sell Ticket Information For Ellwood/Riverside Game

Ellwood City students will have the chance to purchase their student tickets, and adult tickets, during school from now until Friday at noon. The big rivalry game between Ellwood City and Riverside will be at Lincoln High School on Friday, February 8 with the varsity game tip off at 7:30 p.m. The game will be Ellwood’s senior night as well as a candlelight vigil for Kait Francis.
