Mayor Anthony Court and Lt. David Kingston of the Ellwood City Police Department presented the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lawrence County, a Commendation at the LCCAC “Open House” held yesterday as part of their “Great Childhood Campaign” kickoff. On hand for a question and answer session were various advocates for LCCAC including a Trauma Therapist, Forensic Interviewer, and the Board Chair. The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching.  In hand, the deadline is Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.  The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors.  Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible.  Applications may be received from the High School Student Guidance Counselor or from the Ellwood City History Center. Valerie Valentino conducted a meeting of the Corona D’italia #807 Memorial Scholarship Committee on Wednesday, March 20, 5:00 PM at Pizza Joe’s. The session began with the group enjoying lunch of their choice. Lois DiFrischia presented candy favors to all in attendance. The committee will host a Mother-Daughter-Scholarship dinner on Tuesday, May 07, 5:00 PM at the Wolverine Restaurant. This will represent the final awarding of two $500.00 scholarships as the Lodge has disbanded.
