Ellwood City held their annual holiday events this past weekend – Friday night’s Light Up Night and Saturday afternoon’s Christmas Parade invited families and friends downtown Ellwood City for holiday festivities. A cool and clear night helped set the stage for Light Up Night with the lighting of the large tree in the community plaza, but as with the annual parade, what feels like annual rain was in the forecast. 46th Annual Wampum Area Christmas Parade

Wampum, PA – On Thursday evening, November 29th, hundreds of local folks enjoyed a full fireworks display preceded by Wampum’s “Light Up the Town” where homemade luminaries lined main Street and Wampum’s old-fashioned decorations were lighted for the season. Refreshments were served along with pockets of entertainment including cloggers, wood carving demonstrations and Carolers were found throughout Main Street. And horse-drawn carriage rides were available all evening. “Celebration of HOPE Ball” Ticket Information

The Club Hope Foundation is hosting their inaugural “Celebration of HOPE Ball” on Saturday March 30, 2019. It will be held the SOI in Ellwood City and it will be a night of dinner, dancing, honoring, and memorializing the lives of those in our area affected by cancer. Important Christmas Parade Information

The annual Ellwood City Christmas Parade will march down Lawrence Avenue Saturday, December 1st at 3:30. The parade will start at the intersection of 4th Street and Lawrence Avenue and end at the intersection of 8th Street and Lawrence Avenue. Staging will take place in the Holy Redeemer School parking lot. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 2:45 and enter the lot at Crescent Avenue and 3rd Street. Parents may drop off their children on Crescent Avenue between 3rd Street and 4th Street. Wrestling Meeting To Be Held Monday

There will be a wrestling meeting for all parents with students in grades 7-12 at Riverside and Ellwood City who are interested in wrestling.   The meeting on Monday, November 19 beginning at 6:00pm. The meeting will take place in the Ellwood City School District cafeteria.  All interested in wrestling are welcome to attend the public meeting. Star Wars Comes To The Ellwood Library On Saturday

The 501st Legion known as Vader’s Fist promotes volunteer work through quality costumed appearances nationwide relating to Star Wars. Ellwood City Library has hosted the group every two years since its 100th anniversary in 2014 and will continue to entertain the group this weekend. Riverside Varsity Softball Team To Host Pancake Breakfast

Riverside’s Varsity Softball team will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Lillyville Church of God on Saturday, November 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be raffle tickets you can buy to enter to win either a Steelers Basket or a Panther Basket, as well as a topping bar to go with your pancakes.
