Wurtemburg-Perry VFD Holding 1st Annual Night at the Casino

The Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its first annual Night at the Casino in February. Their first annual trip will take party-goers to the Rivers Casino on Saturday, February 15 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The bus will leave from the fire department parking lot at 4:00 p.m. and the bus will leave from the casino no later than 10:15 p.m.  Approximate time of return to the fire department parking lot is 11:15 p.m. According to a social media post, there are still a few tickets available. Calvin Presbyterian Church Hosting GriefShare Program

Calvin Presbyterian Church will once again host a 13-week GriefShare program this winter. No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process. A GriefShare seminar/support group is being hosted and sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church. The program will be facilitated by Ginny Brest. The first session is scheduled for Sunday, February 9 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the church parlor. The group will meet each Sunday afternoon for 13 weeks, concluding on May 17. Acclaimed Local Artist and Author to Share Her Personal Journey at January’s Meeting

January’s guest speaker at the Ellwood City Area Historical Society’s monthly meeting on the 13th will be acclaimed local author and visual artist, Lynda McKinney Lambert. A retired Professor of Fine Arts at Geneva College, Lynda’s poetry and non-fiction essays have been published in a variety of literary journals, anthologies, and academic writings, as well as her personal accomplishments that are featured in several books. Lynda’s unique personal story involves her sudden and profound loss of sight in 2007 that she had to overcome through intensive rehabilitation. Gordmans Announces Hiring Event

In anticipation of a previously announced changeover from Peebles to Gordmans, there will be a hiring event hosted at all 23 Gordman locations in Pennsylvania this month. While the changeover will be official at all Peebles locations in Pennsylvania on February 18, corporate owner Stage Stores Inc. announced the event will be on January 7 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Locally, the event will be held at the Franklin Plaza on Route 288 and at the store in Neshannock Township at 3332 Wilmington Road.
