We are now accepting Halloween costume submissions for our annual costume contest! The last day to submit is Nov 2. All submissions will appear on our Facebook gallery page for voting beginning Friday, November 3rd and voting runs through Thursday, November 9th. The Rules: 1. Dress your kids up for Halloween! 2. Submit the best photo of your child in his/her costume to EllwoodCity.org by e-mailing ecstaff@ellwoodcity.org (please include name and age) 3. VOTE! 4. Win and collect your prize! Super Soren’s Super Ziti Dinner Fundraiser

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 30, 2017

Activities at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, October 31, at 10:00 a.m. — Family Laptime, designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. Please note that there will only be one session this week, at 10:00 a.m., due to Trick-or-Treat night scheduled for Tuesday evening. The 6:30 p.m. session will resume next week. Wampum Light Up Night Announced

Wampum Area Business Association announces its Light Up the Town Night on Thursday, November 30, 2017 starting at 6:00 p.m. They will be dedicating the “all new over the street Christmas Decorations” that were purchased by donations from local businesses and the community. The evening will be highlighted by a horse drawn carriage ride through town, entertainment by Dance Expressions, Diamond Dance, Studio P, and the Northside Kindergarten Carolers.  The New Castle Clogger Club will also perform.  DJ Rockin Ryan will provide music throughout the evening. 14th National Take-Back Initiative

The Ellwood City Police Department in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)  has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day which will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., across the country.   This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications. Ellwood City Police Department will once again participate in this event. Paint Party for Retreat Fund

The North Sewickley Presbyterian Church Retreat Committee is hosting a Paint Party by artist Ken Cole on Saturday, November, 11, 2017 to raise money for the retreat fund to help pay for speakers and scholarships. The session will be from 1:30 to 4:00p.m. at the North Sewickley Presbyterian Church. The cost is $30.00 per person payable at the door, checks payable to the church. Bernstine to Host Paper Shredding Event on Nov. 4

Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) will host a free paper shredding event on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9-11 a.m. in the Franklin Township Building parking lot, located at 897 State Route 288, Fombell.
