Rotary Club of Ellwood City Announces Annual Scholarship Recipients

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City held its scholarship dinner on May 15th. Seniors from Ellwood City and Riverside and their families celebrated with the Rotarians. This year, the Club awarded 6 educational scholarship- totaling $6000.00 In the past, the scholarships were directed at 4-year and 2- year academics. Recognizing a change in student career choices, the Rotary Scholarship Committee added an additional Scholarship to support those who are going into the Trades. The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2025 will receive their diplomas June 5th, 7:00 p.m. at the Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr. Memorial Auditorium. Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 17 names of full-time and part-time Ellwood City area students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the spring 2025 semester. To be named to the President’s List, students must have completed at least 12 hours of credit-bearing courses in which performance grades are awarded and have received a 3.75 grade-point average or above for the semester. Ellwood City Wolves Club Hosts Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner Honoring Eight Scholarship Recipients

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 hosted their annual Scholarship Awards dinner on Wednesday May 28, at 6PM, at the Connequenessing Country Club. The club awards eight scholarships to eight students from the Ellwood City and Riverside School districts. Invocation was offered by Reverend Todd Custer of Christ Presbyterian Church. Club members, students and their families, enjoyed a buffet of carved roast beef, champagne chicken, penne in vodka sauce, mashed redskin potatoes and summer vegetable medley. Lincoln High School Senior Awarded $10,000 ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship

ELLWOOD is proud to recognize Lincoln High School senior Owen Andrews as the latest recipient of the ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. Owen was awarded $10,000 to support his continued education in Electro-Mechanical Technology at the New Castle School of Trades. Riv-Ell Business Plans: Traveling Ultrasound Business To Surprises For Outdoor Enthusiasts

Ten Riverside or Lincoln high school students participated in Butler County Community College’s Riv-Ell Entrepreneurship program in 2024-2025. They earned 16 transferrable college credits and BC3’s workplace certificate in entrepreneurship upon completing the program that required a capstone-project business plan. Students presented business plans May 5 in Lincoln’s library. About Riv-Ell’s Class of 2025, their business plans and extra-curricular activities: Shaelyn Freed, Lincoln. “Little Miracle Imaging,” a traveling ultrasound business with 3D and 4D technology. North Side Primary will be hosting a Lemonade Stand to help its students become young entrepreneurs. Second grade students will be hosting the lemonade stand on May 27-29 on the school playground – rain or shine! Pink and yellow lemonade will be available as well as popcorn. PHOTOS: Ellwood City Elementary Students Host Pizza Day

120 Sixth-grade students participated in a pizza project that culminated last week as they ventured to local pizzerias Vinny’s Restaurant and Johnny’s Pizza Shop. Elementary Computer Teacher Matt Skoczylas and School Counselor Christina Mendillo organized the project. Skoczylas had completed a pizza project unit with Ellwood City 6th graders before but, according to Mendillo, wanted to expand the project and turn it into an actual simulation.
