Ellwood Group Announces Five $10,000 Scholarships To Be Awarded to Graduating Seniors

Ellwood Group, Inc. has recently announced a unique scholarship opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school following graduation. The ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship is being made available to those 2022 graduates who are considering pursuing a certificate or degree in Mechatronics, or an equivalent industrial maintenance program. Portersville Mother Selected To Speak at “HER-story” Woman’s Conference

New Castle, PA – A Portersville mother who raised three children and calls her enrollment at 44 in Butler County Community College’s new practical nursing program “my time” has been selected to speak Saturday at a conference whose goal, the event organizer says, “is to empower women in our community.” Yeng Carle is believed to be the first BC3 student chosen to speak at the Women’s Conference of Lawrence County in its 15 years, added Gayle Young, executive director of the United Way of Lawrence County, which organizes the event. The Slippery Rock Area School Board has been selected as a University of Pittsburgh Tri‐State School Study Council D. Richard Wynn Distinguished School Board. The D. Ellwood City Area School District to Stage Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Next up on stage at Lincoln High School is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a musical based on the 1971 American musical fantasy film starring Gene Wilder. It is an adaptation of the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The film tells the story of a poor child named Charlie Bucket who, after finding a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar, visits Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory along with four other children, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt and Mike Teavee. When these four children get to the factory, we see how spoiled and demanding they truly are….
